December WordSlingerz contest

Creative Writing Application

ARE YOU READY TO WRITE? Enter the WordSlingerz writing contest for a chance to win $25 and become a character in the soon-to-be-released teen series, Empire Academy.

WordSlingerz is a creative writing program for those who have a love of reading and writing. It enables students to find their inner voice and use it to write, allowing the creative side to emerge. The goal of WordSlingerz is to give students a chance to turn their hobby into a compilation of short stories, poems, essays, or any genre or prose of their choice. If you think you have what it takes to be a WordSlinger, then this may be your time to shine.

If you are a middle school or high school student, WE WANT YOUR STORIES! WordSlingerz is hosting its first creative writing contest, and you have a chance to win up to $100! (Check back to enter the upcoming contests. The more you enter, the greater your chance is of winning!) If this sounds like something you could use, simply fill out the application with your short story of 1,500 words or less, typed, and double-spaced and email it to karenminors@gmail.com.

The theme is "The day I found out...." The story can be fictional or true. Describe your actions/activities/routine in the day you discovered you were adopted/a loved one passed away, etc. Make it fun and make it yours. You CANNOT use a previously written piece of work. All work turned in will not be returned and is subject to be used for future advertisements for WordSlingerz. There is a $5 submission fee and all entries must be received by midnight January 31, 2012. All payments are to be made via PayPal.
